TURKEY MIGRATION AND INTERNALLY DISPLACED POPULATION SURVEY

(TMIDPS)

4 MAY 2005 MEETING

 Mr. Walter Kalin (UN Special Representative of Human Rights Internally Displaced Population)  visited Turkey during 4-6 May, 2005. During this visit, a presentation of TMIDPS was made to him by Hacettepe University Institute of Population Studies (HUIPS) in 4 May 2005, Wednesday between 14.00 and 17.00 hours. Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Planning Organization, State Institute of Statistics, Mr. Walter Kalin (UN Special Representative of Human Rights Internally Displaced Population), UNHCR, UNDP, representatives of European Commission, academicians and students working in the project participated in the meeting.

Opening speeches of the meeting were made by Prof. Dr. Sabahat Tezcan (Director of HUIPS) and Kemal Madenoğlu (General Directorate of Social Sectors and Coordination, State Planning Organization).

Then, Assoc. Prof. Turgay Ünalan made a presentation about the TMIDPS. This presentation is given below.
