Prof. Dr. Sinan Türkyılmaz, Dr. Mehmet Ali Eryurt, Tuğba Adalı, Hande Tunçkanat, Pelin Seçkiner, Ayşe Abbasoğlu Özgören and Dilek Yıldız participated in the European Population Conference 2010 (EPC 2010) held in Vienna on 1-4 September 2010 to present oral presentations/posters, within the scope of TDHS-2008 Project conducted by our Institute with support from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). Our Institute's Lecturer at the Department of Technical Demography Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sinan Türkyılmaz has been appointed as Associate Professor on April 19, 2010.
The PhD thesis of our Institute's Research Assistant Mehmet Ali Eryurt under supervision of Prof. Dr. İsmet Koç titled "Internal Migration and Fertility in Turkey: An Event History Analysis" was accepted by the Jury of the PhD thesis defense examination.
Based on the science exam and interview, our Institute's PhD student Ayşe Abbasoğlu Özgören and our Institute's Master student Dilek Yıldız have been appointed as Research Assistants on 28.12.2009.
Our Institute's Lecturer at the Department of Technical Demography Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmet Koç has been appointed as Professor on November 4, 2009.
Our Institute's Lecturer Dr. İlknur Yüksel worked at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) Gender Violence and Health Center in U.K. as a postgraduate fellow between September 8, 2009 and January 8, 2010.
Based on the science exam and interview, our Institute's Research Assistant Dr. İlknur Yüksel has been appointed as Lecturer at the Department of Economic and Social Demography on 07.10.2009.
Our Institute's Research Assistant Tuğba Adalı attended a training program organized by University of Michigan, Institute of Social Research, U.S. between June 1 and July 24, 2009.
